    » Help Choosing Servers Specs

I am going to move to two new interconnected servers (one for Apache and another one for MySQL). The specs I chose are as follows: Apache Server: - Dual Processor Quad Core Xeon 5405 - 2.00GHz (Harpertown) - 2 x 12MB cache - RAM 6GB - HD: 2x 146 GB 10K RPM SCSI/SAS HDD - 4000 GB bandwidth Price: $633/month. MySql Server: - Dual Xeon 5130, 2.00GHz (Woodcrest) - 2 x 4MB cache - RAM 8GB - HD: 2x 146 GB 10K RPM SCSI/SAS HDD - 2000 GB bandwidth. Price: $406/month. 1st question: Is it a wise choice for Mysql server to go down to 5130 and increase the RAM to 8GB? OR in another word, Is going down to 5130 for mysql server will affect the server dramatically compared to 5405? 2nd Question: for Mysql server: I can increase the hard drive RP...... - 2010-03-14

» What will happen when the sun runs out of fuel?

It will become a "red thing" or something right? and explode? There are two effects acting on the sun. Its gravity, pulling matter in, and the explosive force of the nuclear fusion occuring within, pushing matter out. At the moment, these two effects are at equilibrium, keeping the sun at the size it is right now. As the sun runs out of fuel, its mass will naturally decrease, reducing its gravity. Because of this reduced gravity, the sun will expand to form a red giant. The radius of this giant will be greater than that of Earths orbit, and so the Earth will be destroyed. Its gonna happen any day now Just kidding After that, due to the lack of fusion inside the star, gravity will become the major factor collapsing the star to fo...... - 2010-03-14

» What are my oregon renters rights?

l was unable to pay my rent due to state tax account seizure. my landlords said they would work with us but randomly showed up today and tole us to be out by monday. what can l do?You have to leave. Any verbal agreement is immaterial and will not stand up in court. They have given you a 3 day notice, but they have to give you a chance to pay. A 3 day (72 hr) notice is legal here in Oregon. Legally if you can pay rent in full by monday, then they must let you stay. If you cannot pay, then you must be out by monday or they will file eviction. They can file on tues, here you get a hearing the following week. The court will usually give you another week to be out. If you are still not out by then, they will call the sheriff tom remove...... - 2010-03-14

» components not working in nested swf

Hello, I am trying to load and mp3 player swf that uses components (and a php file), into my main flash movie. It loads but none of the components work, i.e the combo box does not drop down. I tested the file on its own in a browser and it works fine, but not when I use loadMovie to load it into my main flash movie. Any help would be appreciated. I would just build the mp3 player in my main movie but I read in the help files that components have to be in frame 1 in order to work. This sounds extremly limiting so I know there has to be a way around that. Thanksthe component symbol needs to be in the library of the root swf. the easiest way to do this is to drop the component on the root swf's main timeline and then delete it; it will th...... - 2010-03-14

» Hamilton Ontario, best and worst areas please?

Okay, so I know that Hamilton is divided into 4 main areas, Mountain, Centre, West and East. Of these areas, which is the best to live and which is the worst? Also, what region is most trendy and what region is downtown in? Thanks. You missed the North End. Hamilton now includes outlying communities - Dundas, Stoney Creek, Flamborough, etc. but the main city can be described as you have done. The mountain area has always been considered "nicer" than the centre but stuff like vandalism, theft, and assaults on people happen everywhere. The mountain area has a lot of suburban style "subdivisions" with a fair number of small to medium sized strip malls. Mohawk College is located on the west mountain and most of the property around the ...... - 2010-03-14

    » Filters and Manufacturers!

Greetings, Just a curious question here - is there a large difference in quality between manufacturers when it comes to filters? Is the Tiffen Graduated ND filter from Tiffen I paid $55 for higher quality then a similar $24 Cokin? If quality varies that greatly, what are some names of some good filter makers? And what makes a quality filter better then a non-quality filter? THanksVery interesting article about filters at www.shootsmarter.com You have to register to get to it, but here's the specific link http://www.shootsmarter.com/infocenter/wc044.htmlOh wow, this is great. I'm looking for a cookie recipe. The finished cookie is made one at a time using a utensil that looks like a mini-waffle iron. » How do i hit the notes between chest and fallsetto?

when i sing i can never seem to get the notes between chest and head voice my voice just simply cracks or goes away and sounds bad! anyone have any really good effective advice??This is probably one of the hardest things to overcome as a young singer. Usually the voice can skip over that gap if you are singing upwards, but if you are heading down, it can stumble and fall like a crazy hiccup. It's kind of like walking up stairs. If you take a bigger step than you need you will still get there. However, if you take too big a step on the way down you can end up on the floor. To connect these ranges, you have to practice. Do lots of sirens. Start out in you chest voice, slur pitches up into your falsetto, then back down. On the way down...... - 2010-03-14

The people at ridgid have come close with this radio but i would have to say as a "job site radio" not going to cut it. I hope that in the near future they will add a charger then I will run to the depot to get one.Do a Search and read all the past threads about Ridgid Jobsite Radios. » Hey yo.

I'm actually strongly considering purchasing vBulletin, probably within the next day or so, but I have two questions I would like to ask at the moment. First, the way I read the license agreement, a license will grant a user to run one instance of the software on one site at one time. In other words, you get to use it at one particular domain, and that's it. My question is what if for some reason you want to change it to another domain or something like that, still using only one instance of the software, is that within the rules? Another question I have is is there any place where I can view any available downloadable templates for vBulletin? I understand the whole piracy issue, and why you can't allow non licensed users to downlo...... - 2010-03-14

Alright, so yesterday my neighbour let me borrow his well used guitar. He said it was in fine condition and me, the unknowledgable beginner guitarist, trusted him. I watched the video a bunch of times placing and replacing my fingers exactly but it doesnt work. Am I doing it wrong or is it the guitar? Help! It's really impossible to diagnose your problem without seeing you try to play. My recommendation is to sit down with your neighbor and have him tell if you're starting off right. » Origin of word "troubleshoot"

What is the origin (etymology) of the word "troubleshoot" (or "troubleshooting")? The "trouble" part is obvious but why "shoot"?According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the term trouble-shooter was preceeded by the earlier term trouble-hunter. Both terms were used in reference to telephone lines in the late 19th/early 20th centuries. The trouble-hunters found and then repaired telephone line problems. It seems a natural progression from "hunter" to "shooter", though this isn't explicitly stated in the OED. If that seems a good history to you, I'll be glad to post some additional details as an answer to your question. pafalafa-gaYes, the progression seems logical. Alright, I'm sure it's somewhere in this forum on how to do it but I just don't understand most of this talk. I'm trying to do light graffiti with slow shutter speeds and wide aperture. I don't understand that. I have a Canon Rebel Gii 35mm SLR camera and I can't figure out how to set a shutter speed from 5-30 seconds. I think I know how to change the aperture to the widest settings, 32 is as far as it will go up I think. So with that said, how do I set the shutter speed from 5-30 seconds? In fact, I don't have a 5 second, it goes 12346810 and so on. Not hurt the feelings of the person who gave you the gift or would you be honest & tell the person to exchange it since you don't like the team?I would only wear it when I'll see the person that give it to me, cuz I wouldn't want to hurt her feelings. But I wouldn't leave the house while wearing it.Most people know that I'm in love with the Red Sox, so unless they didn't know me too well, I don't think they'd get me a Yankee jersey or tshirt...and in that case I don't think they'd be buying me a gift, or I'd think it was a joke. I couldn't bring myself to wear anything Yankees. I'd probably say "It's so nice of you to get me that, but I'm a Red Sox fan." Hopefully...... - 2010-03-14

if u would come and get them because they are stranded and they ran out of gas, would u go get them? i swear i either get kids calling me at 3:00am asking me about my frig or bums needing a ride wtf do i look like?you look like a giverIf I didn't really know them ? Hell no ! Unless I was going to beat their a$$ for waking me up at that time of morning . After that I would turn my phone off or change the number and be careful who I give it to the next time . Another idea for you is to get a whistle and the next time you get a prank call blow the friggin whistle in their ear . I wouldn't let any one take advantage of me like that .lol my friends somtimes do that to ppl at night as a joke they apologize tho if som1 gets mad, (i wou...... - 2010-03-14

» Is greed nature or nurture?

or human choice? do you learn greed or born with it?Definately nature. No matter how hard humans try, they can never escape the impulse of greed. Since the begining of time, there's been greed... almost every war fought and everything bad that's happened in the world is due to greed. It's not something we pick up along the way; or we'd have long evolved out of it by now.Although everybody is answering nature, and it may seem like the sensible answer, I will have to say nurture. Why? An individual could be raised as a giver. If a child sees that his/her parents are always charitable and give on a regular basis and if the parents never really cared for materialistic things, then the child will grow up with the same ideals...... - 2010-03-14

» What made you a Gunner???

What was the first or key reason that you became a loyal Gunner? Just curious. Thanks, PatrickThe first professional soccer match I attended was at Highbury when I was on a junior semester abroad. The fans and the atmosphere were amazing, even in a 0-0 draw with 'Pool. I was hooked from then on.There was a thread about this not too long ago: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8764 What made me a Gunner was a combination of these things, in no particular order or weight: -Dennis Bergkamp -Fever Pitch (the book) -A trip to France -Digital cable, and the arrival of Fox Sports WorldOriginally posted by dwinkler There was a thread about this not too long ago: http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?s...... - 2010-03-14

» Quick Question abou Neflix dvds and putting them onto my ipod touch?

First of all, can Netflix find out if you have burned a dvd from its movie because it looks like i will have to break down he copy protected thing. Secondly, do it need two programs to do it because handbrake(dvd-mp4) only works for non protected but is there a safe one that copies protected dvds? ThanksInstead of removing the ... which they will figure out you did... you can always just download movies from the netflix website and then you need the video format converting software to be able to put it onto your iPod. I'm not quite sure how well this will work though... Hope this helps!I think it's ok for personal use. You may take a look at this dvd to ipod review, it will help you choose the best ipod converter to conver...... - 2010-03-14

    » Help with camera setting?

Hi all, I am just getting used to my Nikkon D40X and I now understand shutter speed but not great on Aperture. So I put my camera on "A" setting last night so that it works out the right Aperture for me and I set everything else. But when I tried to do this the shutter speed was incredibly slow? any idea how I speed the shutter speed up on the "A" setting (If this is possible)? If not, any other suggestions? Thanks allYou cannot understand shutter speed on its own without taking into account aperture and ISO setting. Correct exposure depends on those 3 factors. If you change one of them, you'll have to change at least another one to keep the same exposure. Buy a book about photography basics; they all explain this relationship and ...... - 2010-03-14

» Does anyone know this presenters name??

Konichi wa I saw this clip of a funny Japanese TV show on Myspace a while back and wanted to know who the girl in the box at the top left was. She looks really beautiful - sort of a Japanese Cat Deely! Apologies for the low quality caps, the original isn't mine. But I'm sure I've seen her when I've visited Japan. She seems to do similar type shows where they play a clip of something and then film the reaction of the celebrity guests. ThanksIt's soo hard to see... » Are there any real programs that give money for home improvements with no payback?

I live in KY and have recently had to go on disability due to an aneurysm in my heart. I also recently had a baby. I didnt know I was pregnant until 8 weeks before she was born and she was born 11 weeks premature. I live in a 2 bedroom apt with my 2 kids so you can imagine this place is way too small at 630 square ft. So I am looking for a program that gives money to people for home improvements that truley needs it. I have found a contractor that will build a living room and bedroom on for a minimum amount. I am just looking for someone that might know of a program that can help. Please no attitude answers. you can't add on to an apartment if you're renting it. You can only make improvements to a dwelling that you OWN. Perhaps ...... - 2010-03-14
